Minky Pajamas

I use to {HATE} working with Minky. I don't know why. Just did.

I have been busy sewing a few of these cuties up, that they have become my new favorite. And I don't hate (sewing) minky as much! :)

I think after the holiday craziness, I will be making a few more of these and they will be a new item in my shop :)

Craft Fair

Well, it has come and gone and I am exhausted!
The night before the big day I only got 3 hours of sleep and after a (long) full day of standing in my booth, I was in bed at 9 and didn't get out until 9 this morning!

Here are some pictures of my booth. I decided Wednesday morning to make some receiving blankets (11!!) and then Thursday afternoon I was making some more tutu's!
As soon as we got to the school to set up I was VERY surprised by how small an 8x10 booth is! :)
After all the totes, boxes, table, hutch, bench, clothes and quilt rack and all 4 pegboard panels were hauled in I was starting to get worried that I had too much! :)

It all turned out, and I owe a HUGE thanks to my dear friend Lindsay for helping us haul all the goodies inside and help me set up. I couldn't have done it without her!
My sister and Lindsay helped me out in the booth the day of and I have to say thanks to them again!

The one person that really really needs a big shout out is the hubby. He put up with me through all this. He built my peg walls, then had to take them apart, shorten them and put them back together! AND THEN he was there for the hauling in and taking down of all my stuff. Thanks Troy! Love ya!

Overall, I had a great experience and learned alot. Most likely I will do it again, but maybe I will KNOW for sure in a couple weeks after I get some much needed down time. :)

The booth

My trusty hutch. This hutch use to be at my parents while I was growing up. Shortly after Troy and I moved into our house, it was given to me. It has sat in our garage until this week. It worked out great for the booth. :) Thanks Mom! Notice the skirt on the mannequin??? That was my best custom order request. The one on display was Taylor's so it wasn't for sale. If it was it would have sold fast.....

All of my many skirts, dresses and blessing dresses.

The wall with all the hair bows. There would have been more on the wall, but we ran out of pegs so the table had a lot of baskets holding bows. The table also held all the cute little ties for the boys. The diaper envelopes were a big seller too.

The back wall. Those little capes went really fast. Super man on one side and batman on the other??? How could one resist??? I also had pink/purple with princess crowns for the girls.

Ahhhh, the receiving blankets I decided to make last minute. Along with my purses. I love that bench. We have A LOT of pictures with that as a photo prop and holding my stuff.

Burp rags in the basket. And the top seller of the day, the crayon wallets. Those went so fast!
Note to self: do A LOT MORE next time :)

Quilts & skirts
The little pillows you see hanging, were tooth fairy pillows.

The front shot of the quilts. The second one down was touched by so many people it was crazy!
I was a little surprised it took until the end of the day to finally sell.

That's the tour of my booth. All the things that didn't sell will be listed in my etsy store soon!

Blessing Dress for Jessie Jane

I was given the privilege to make the blessing dress for my niece (made the quilt in previous post) Ashley's new baby girl.

She had the vision of wanting an eyelet dress with a satin bow. Her Mom was in town a few weeks back, so we headed to the store and picked out what we wanted.

These pictures are mostly so her Mom can see it since she will miss the blessing day. (Still so Gina??!??!!?)

**Two weeks until the craft fair! I have been so crazy busy! I didn't even list or take pics of any of the stuff I have made so I can keep my inventory stocked up! Wish me luck!**

Quilt for Jessie Jayne

My niece (she is two years younger than me) just had her {third} baby yesterday!

We had {BOTH} of our first two kids just months apart from each other, but I wasn't getting back on the train for baby #3 (not yet anyway! LOL)

I saw {this} baby quilt awhile back and I just knew that I had to make this for her baby girl, Jessie Jayne (LOVE the middle name! ;P) Right down to using the same fabric line!

I wish I could have gotten a better picture of the quilting I did....I am totally in LOVE with my quilting frame....

The back, I just did a simple add in piece, but still turned out cute.

Congrats on Baby Jessie Jayne, Matt & Ashley! Can't wait to meet her in person!

I WON!

Remember this giveaway I sent you all to?!?!?

Sorry, all....I WON IT!

I never win anything. My sister.... well she wins TONS. So much that she won a baby crib when I was pregnant with my first and her last was already here. So...she gave it to me. But still she wins.

I don't!

I am going to be selfish with this fabric, because I LOVE IT and make a quilt for myself. It is totally something I would pick out for myself and the colors are PERFECT. I am still brain storming a design, but I have until at least September to figure it out....
Because this line of fabric isn't even out yet!

I have a feeling it's going to be flying off the shelves.
And alot of it will be into my home :)

Go me! :)

Simplicity Quilt

{SOLD}

This adorable quilt was the first (of many) that I made in preparation for the craft fair.

The day I took it into the quilter's, I was stopped by a young Mom wanting an opinion on some fabric. I am no pro.

I gave my two cents, but it went farther. The truth was revealed that the quilt I was holding in my hands was going to be sold, so she was so kind and bought it from me right then!

It's going in the mail tomorrow (she came down from the Boise area to the {WONDERFUL} "Gathering Place" shop here in town) so it's being sent her way.

I {LOVED} how it turned out....

Camera Strap

I have really neglected this blog (along with my family blog) lately!

I have tons of things to post and add to my store, but it's the process of doing it that stops me :)

I actually made a new strap for my camera months ago and am now just posting it!
My old strap was very thin and flimsy and if you tighten one end and not the other, the padding in the middle would be off balance and the whole thing would be so uncomfortable!

I decided to make a fun, new cute strap. I dove into my fabric scraps and came out LOVING what I ended up with!
My husband doesn't like how 'girly' it is, but it's my camera so he deals with it! :) Now, if I wanted to make a new strap for our SLR camera, he would veto that idea in a second!

{For some reason the coloring in these pictures are very dull on my screen, I didn't mess with any of the coloring in photoshop! Just added my name! They are really a bright and fun combo of colors!}

New Scripture Bag

I have been a little MIA lately, but not because I was taking a break from my sewing.

I have been working on alot of custom orders lately so I haven't had time to actually sit down and just make something new.

I have actually just signed up/committed/payed for a booth in a local craft fair. It isn't until October, but that gives me plenty of time to get lots and lots of goodies made! :)

This cute little bag was made for a little girl as a present on her baptism day. I love the material!

A matching skirt was also made out of the same material for her too. To pin to her top was a cute little fabric layered flower. I made one of these for my daughter to match a skirt and I loved the idea that I could just un-pin the flower and wear the shirt plain or add another one to change it up and match another one of her skirts. Because let's face it, my daughter's closet is getting pretty full of 'Mommy Made' skirts! :)
